12 Dog Friendly Wineries and Breweries in Margaret River
Twelve Margaret River wineries and breweries that say in their own words your dog is welcome, two of them indoors, with the lead rules and hours for each.

The short version
- Twelve Margaret River wineries and breweries state a dog welcome on their own website or Facebook page
- Beerfarm and Swings & Roundabouts let dogs inside as well as out
- Fermoy, Passel and Lenton Brae put out water bowls
- Wilyabrup has five of the twelve, which makes it the easiest base for a day with the dog
Margaret River is about three hours south of Perth, so a trip with the dog is usually a weekend rather than an afternoon. That means you need more than one good lawn: you need a run of cellar doors that will all have you. These twelve wineries and breweries say in their own words that dogs are welcome, and two of them let your dog come inside. Every policy and every set of hours below was checked on the venue's own website or Facebook page in October 2026.
The Short Version
- Beerfarm at Metricup and Swings & Roundabouts at Yallingup let dogs inside as well as out, which matters on a wet Margaret River day
- The other ten welcome dogs too, and the ones that say where all mean outside: gardens, decks, lawns and outdoor seating
- Driftwood is closed Monday and Tuesday and Juniper is closed Monday, so check the day before you plan a loop
The list starts with the places that are most generous with dogs and works through to the ones that keep it simple. Most sit on or just off Caves Road between Yallingup and Margaret River town, so three or four make an easy day.
1) Beerfarm (Metricup), the one that lets them inside
Beerfarm answers the question in its own FAQ: dogs are very welcome at the venue, inside and out, as long as they stay on a lead the whole time. It is a brewery on a 160 acre farm with its own herd of Black Angus cattle, and the larger cuts come back to the farm kitchen. There is live music every Saturday from 2pm to 5pm. Open Monday to Thursday 11am to 5pm, Friday 11am to 9pm, and Saturday and Sunday 11am to 6pm. The kitchen closes at 3pm on weekdays and 4pm on weekends, so come for lunch rather than late. Bookings are essential at peak times.
Why it works:
- Inside as well as out, so rain does not end the visit
- The policy is in the venue's own FAQ, in plain words
- A working farm with its own herd, so the food has a reason to be good
- Live music every Saturday afternoon from 2pm
2) Swings & Roundabouts (Yallingup), dogs inside and out
Swings says it on its own Facebook page: your four legged friends are more than welcome in the venue, and they can sit inside and outside. Another post adds that well behaved dogs on leads are as welcome as the customers. The website says it more loosely: bring the kids, your dog, or just yourself. There is an open lawn, giant swings and an adventure playground, so this is the one for a family travelling with a dog. Open every day from 11am. The website gives two different closing times, 5pm and 6pm, so check before a late visit.
3) Wild Hop Brewing Company (Yallingup), a full dog policy page
Wild Hop has a whole page called Our Doggo Policy. Well behaved dogs on lead are welcome in the gardens, on the deck and on the protected, heated verandas. They do not go inside the building, because the kitchen is wide open to the room. Leads stay on everywhere on the property, the car park included. If you book, tell them you are bringing the dog so they can give you a suitable table. A dog showing aggressive behaviour will be asked to leave, and the space fills up at busy times, so think about how your dog copes with a crowd. Open seven days from 10.45am, to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 6pm Friday to Sunday, with the kitchen closing an hour earlier. Those are the published winter hours, so check again once summer starts.
4) Walsh & Sons (Margaret River), leashed, supervised and well behaved
Walsh & Sons answer "Can I bring my dog?" with a yes, as long as dogs are leashed, supervised and well behaved, and they are welcome in the outside areas. The wines are minimal intervention, and the grazing box is built around Farm House smallgoods, Cambray cheeses and local crackers and relishes. Open daily from 10.30am, to 5pm Sunday to Thursday and 5.30pm on Friday and Saturday. Last tastings are at 4.15pm and the kitchen closes at 4.30pm. Bookings are recommended and essential for groups of more than six, though walk-ins are welcome when there is room.
5) Fermoy Estate (Wilyabrup), water bowls and a straight answer
Fermoy puts the question on its Visit page and answers yes: well behaved dogs are welcome in the outdoor areas, on a lead at all times, and water bowls are available. A tasting is up to five Fermoy wines, at the bar or seated, for 15 dollars a head, redeemable on wine you buy, and it takes 45 minutes to an hour. Walk-ins are welcome, and booking secures the time you want. Open daily 11am to 5pm, closed Good Friday, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
6) Passel Estate (Cowaramup), a whole page on the subject
Passel has published a full page saying dogs are welcome. They can join you on the outdoor wine deck and on the lawn overlooking the vineyard, and there is a fresh bowl of water for them. Keep the lead on at all times, because the neighbouring bushland is a wildlife sanctuary. The Picnic Wine Tasting is a flight of four wines with a grazing platter, made for the lawn. Open daily 10.30am to 5pm, closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Day and Good Friday. Booking is recommended.
7) Lenton Brae (Wilyabrup), four winery dogs and plenty of shade
Lenton Brae has four dogs of its own: Jess, Emma, Murphy and Gnarly. Its Visit page says it loves having friendly dogs visit, with water bowls and lots of shade. There are more than 15 wines to taste, either your own pick at the bar or a guided seated flight, and you can design a cheese and charcuterie platter from the on-site deli. A fireplace covers a cold afternoon. Open seven days 10am to 5pm, closed Christmas Day, Anzac Day and Good Friday.
8) Juniper Estate (Cowaramup), gardens and 1973 vines
Juniper's cellar door page carries a plain line: friendly dogs welcome on lead, in the gardens. The cellar door sits between a vineyard first planted in 1973 and Wilyabrup Brook. There are lawn games all summer, a fire all winter, and grazing boards to take out onto the lawn under the peppermint trees. Open Tuesday to Friday 11am to 5pm and Saturday and Sunday 10am to 5pm. It is closed on Mondays, and on Good Friday, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.
9) Happs Wines (Dunsborough), a self-guided outdoor tasting
Happs answers the question itself: plenty of wineries around Dunsborough are family friendly, not many are dog friendly, and Happs welcomes all furry friends. The tasting is self-guided and outdoors, more than 40 wines at your own pace and your own table. It costs 15 dollars a person, deducted when you buy three bottles or spend 60 dollars, and bookings are only needed for groups of eight or more. There is no full menu, but there are cheese platters and a build-your-own picnic hamper that comes with a basket, rug and board. Commonage Pottery is on the same site. Open daily 10am to 5pm and 10am to midday on Anzac Day, closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and Good Friday.
10) Stormflower Vineyard (Wilyabrup), picnic rugs provided
Stormflower lists dog friendly among its cellar door features and leaves it at that, so bring the lead anyway. The garden is set up for a picnic and the rugs are provided. The vineyard is certified organic. Food is imported European cheeses, Australian and European salumi, and house-made extras including grape chutney, marinated olives and obatzda, and you are welcome to build your own platter or bring your own food. Tastings are 15 dollars a person, donated to the winery's charity partner. Open seven days, 11am to 5pm.
11) Driftwood Estate (Wilyabrup), pizza from Friday to Sunday
Driftwood says it on its home page: dogs are always welcome, and the only ask is that they stay on a lead and are respectful of other guests. Woodfired pizzas and platters run every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from midday to 3pm. The cellar door is open Wednesday to Sunday, 11am to 4pm, so it is closed Monday and Tuesday and shuts earlier than most on this list.
12) Woodlands Wines (Wilyabrup), the outdoor seating area
Woodlands keeps its line narrow: the outdoor seating area is a dog friendly area. Outdoor seating depends on the weather, so save this one for a fine day. Seated tastings are complimentary and guided by the staff, so allow 45 minutes, and the kitchen serves cheese and grazing boards with house-baked focaccia. The vineyard dates from 1973 and is certified organic. Open seven days 10am to 5pm, with the last tasting at 4pm. Walk-ins are welcome, but booking ahead is strongly recommended in the school holidays.
The Cheat Code: How to Plan the Perfect Margaret River Day With Your Dog
Plan the day by area, not by ranking. Wilyabrup alone has five of the twelve: Fermoy, Lenton Brae, Stormflower, Driftwood and Woodlands. Beerfarm at Metricup and the two Yallingup venues, Swings & Roundabouts and Wild Hop, sit at the northern end of the run. Start early, because most cellar doors here close at 5pm and kitchens shut before that.
Pack for the dog:
- A lead, because almost every venue on this list asks for one
- Water and a bowl, since only Fermoy, Passel and Lenton Brae mention water bowls
- Something for the dog to lie on, and never leave them in the car on a warm day
Check before you go:
- Driftwood is closed Monday and Tuesday, and Juniper is closed Monday
- Wild Hop asks you to mention the dog when you book, and its summer hours may change
- Woodlands seats dogs outside only, and outdoor seating depends on the weather
All twelve are in the free Jedhi app, mapped, and you can filter Margaret River or any other region for Dog Friendly, so the next trip starts with one map instead of twelve open tabs. Free on iPhone and Android.
